Shalom and welcome to Israel! You will be met at Ben Gurion Airport and transferred by your English speaking driver to your hotel. With no activities planned, you are free to relax or explore your neighbourhood.

Day 2
Mt Olives – Western Wall – Via Dolorosa – Jerusalem Hotel

Mt Olives

After breakfast, drive one hour to Jerusalem. The Holy City played an important role in the life of Jesus. Just outside the Old City we visit the Mt of Olives and enjoy a great view of the old city of from above. Then we walk along the Palm Sunday road to the Dominus Flevit Chapel, the Garden Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations.

Western Wall

We enter the walled old city through one of its gates. See the Wailing Wall, the last remnants of the Temple in Jerusalem, where Jews all over the world come to pray. If open, we visit the Temple Mount with the Dome of the Rock.

Via Dolorosa

Through the colorful bazaars walk to the Via Dolorosa and with the 14 Stations of the Cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Continue to your hotel in Jerusalem and overnight.

Bethlehem – Yad Vashem – Israel Museum – Jerusalem Hotel

Bethlehem

Today we hit the road to Bethlehem in the West Bank, just a 20 minutes drive from Jerusalem. The major attraction is the ancient Church of the Nativity, where one can touch the very place where Jesus was born. You will also feel the presence od the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, when entering the West Bank through the 700 km long Separation Wall. Time to walk along the barrier wall and see the protest art in form of graffitis.

Yad Vashem

Back in Jerusalem visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Remembrance Centre.

Israel Museum

Visit the Israel Museum, an important art and archaeology museum. See the famous Dead Sea Scrolls in the Shrine of the Book and the model of Jerusalem in the Second Temple period. Continue to your hotel.

Masada – Eid Gedi – Dead Sea – Jerusalem Hotel

Masada

Pickup from your hotel lobby and head for the desert fortress Masada. Learn about the heroic story of the Jewish fighters who preferred to commit suicide instead of living under Roman rule. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the zealots of the first century made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, the palace, synagogue, water cisterns.

Eid Gedi

Short ride to the Oasis of Ein Gedi, known since the days of King David. Ein Gedi, where four springs with fresh water meet the desert sun, is a place to enjoy the rich and unique flora and fauna.

Dead Sea

Continue to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. The water of the lake is so salty, it allows you to float.

Drive back to your hotel in Jerusalem.

Nazareth – Capernaum – Mt of Beatitudes – Sea of Galilee – Tiberias Hotel

Nazareth

Head to Nazareth, the town where Jesus spent his childhood. Visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, the Church of St. Joseph and if you wish stroll in the Old City market.

Next visit will be to Capernaum, the home of St. Peter. See the nearby archaeological excavations of the synagogue and community.

Mt of Beatitudes

A short hop to Mt of Beatitudes where Jesus held the Sermon of the Mount. Nowadays you find here a Franciscan Church and a tranquil garden.

Sea of Galilee

End the day with a scenic boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.

Golan Heights – Safed –Tiberias Hotel

Golan Heights

Today we head to the Golan Heights. A short hike takes you up to Mt Bental to have great panoramic views. You find here also an old bunker of the Israeli Forces. Next stop is Banias, a national park with lush forests and streams. Here you have time for a walk to a waterfall, with 10 meters the largest in Israel. Continue to Nimrod’s Fortress from the 13th century with brilliant views of the Golan and towards the road to Damascus. Travel to Safed (Tzaf), the centre of Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism.

Safed

Breakfast at the hotel. We drive to Safed is one of the four holy cities in Judaism. We tour the Ashkenazi Ari Synagogue, the Caro Synagogue and see the cemetery where many great scholars and rabbis are buried. Time to explore the alleys and winding stairways of the Artists’ Quarter.

Return to your hotel and overnight.

Akko – Haifa – Caesarea – Jaffa – Tel Aviv Hotel

Akko

Drive 1.5 hours to the Crusader port city of Akko (Acre). Major attractions are the Hospitaller Fortress with its underground halls, the Templar tunnel and the largest prison during the British Mandate. From here we make our way back south along the Mediterranean coastline onto Haifa.

Haifa

Start on Mt. Carmel with a visit of the Stella Maris Church, leading into a small cave where Prophet Elijah lived for a while. Visit the beautiful Baha’i Gardens with its 19 terraces and the Shrine of the Bab. The Baha’i faith developed in the 19th century, and this is one of their religious places. Beneath the gardens you find the German Colony, where you have time for a stroll.

Caesarea

Proceed 30 minutes to Caesarea Maritima. Built under Herold the Great the harbor offered space for up to 300 ships! In Caesarea was also the headquarter of Pontius Pilate, yes, the one, who ordered the crucifixion of Jesus. See the ruins of a Roman theater, once used for chariot races and gladiator fights, the remains of Herod's palace and the aqueduct with a beautiful beach in front of it.

• Please note that the tour to Bethlehem can be cancelled without prior notice due to security circumstances.
• Official check in time at hotels 15:00 – check out time at hotels 12:00.
• We do not check the availability of accommodation when planning your trip. Once you booked and any hotel is not available, we search an alternative and inform you.
• Breakfast at hotels is served in the main restaurant.
• The driver/tour guide escorts you according to the booked itinerary, he is not 24/7 at your disposal.

• The old city of Jerusalem is closed to private vehicles.
• The Western Wall area is open every day. However please note that on Friday evenings and Saturdays, tourists are not allowed to take any photos.
• Temple Mount Opening Hours: Mon-Thu, winter time: 07:30-10:30, 12:30-13:30 – Mon-Thu, summer time: 08:30-11:30, 13:30-14:30 - Fri & Sat closed.
• For the visit of religious sites you need to dress modestly and cover shoulders and knees.
• For the Dead Sea beach don’t forget flip flops and water sandals.

- Cancellations or changes need to be sent in written form. Charges are as follows:
• 25 $USD of the total price of the trip for cancellations from the date of booking until 31 days before departure.
• 25% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 30 to 08 days before departure.
• 100% of the total price of the trip for cancellations or changes made 07 to 01 days before departure or no show.
